It's almost the weekend but I feel like I can't let it begin without first writing about the greatness of last weekend.
Last weekend was filled with all kinds of weather, family, friends, a birthday, and General Conference. I loved every minute of it. Friday was April 1st and the weather was absolutely incredible. I pulled out the shorts and soaked up the sun, I was in heaven.
April 1st was also my brother's birthday. That's right Elder Michael McKell turned 21, his last birthday on the mission. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Not only was it Michael's birthday, but we also received his flight itinerary home. AHHH!!!! I am so excited! I get to see my brother in just a little over 2 months. This boy is seriously one of my best friends and before he left on his mission we got to hang out all the time. He is such a good friend and I know that he has been a great missionary as well. I can't wait to see him! The only downside is that I will only be able to see him for about 2 weeks because I should be leaving for Taiwan sometime in the last week of June. I am just thankful that I will be able to spend some quality time with the whole family before I leave.
The rest of the weekend was filled with General Conference. I remember when I was younger I loved conference weekend because that meant I didn't have to wake up on Sunday and get dressed for church, I got to stay in my pajamas. Now I absolutely love Conference, because I know that the words that are spoken are for me. I know that there will always be something that said that will resonate in my heart, something that will change me, that will make me want to do better.
This Conference was no exception. The talks were beautiful and I was uplifted. I can't wait until next month when I can read all of the talks in the Ensign.
The sessions on Sunday were probably my favorite. All of the talks were great but I especially loved the talks by Elder Christofferson, Elder Scott and President Monson.
Sunday was only made better by waking up to several inches of SNOW! -Did I just use the words better and snow in the same sentence?- I think I did. It was actually perfect for conference to wake up to the world all white and clean. It was gorgeous and I didn't hesitate to take a few pictures.
See what I mean?
The whole day was just inspiring.
